Price Update

Cacao's magic strikes ~again.

Due to the Global Cacao shortage, and in response to rising costs, sustainability needs, and all the other things that “crisis” tends to bring — you probably noticed that our prices went up last month. Cacao was incredibly scarce, and what little there was, was gobbled up by big corporations at a 238% price increase!

That made things pretty complicated for us here, and I was a bit disheartened, but at the same time, I felt the power, strength, and magic of Cacao coming through again. It was like cacao was self-regulating — pushing back against the overconsumption, misuse, and the misappropriation happening in the market. It's as if Cacao said: I'm tired, I'm taking a break - you all go to your room and think about what you've done. (Lol).

Quite a few cacao companies folded. A lot of white label distributors disappeared. (People who buy someone else’s work and effort, and put their own label on it, to sell it as their own brand) *I'll be posting about the white label trend soon. Know your source! Then, quite unexpectedly, I had a dream with cacao, and it showed me the direction I needed to take, literally(!) I followed it, and we’re back now!

I set out with the guidance from my dream, and discovered that the community that lives around our partner farm actually had a surplus of cacao, (the same varietal, same region — just as magical) but because of their remoteness and the lack of transportation to the village, they had no one to sell it to. Thank you, Cacao. Thank you, dream.

So in the spirit of by the people, for the people — and in resistance to the gross over-commercialization of cacao — and in honor of the dream I received, we're back to our regular prices. Cacao Junajpu was always meant to be accessible. We really want as many people as possible to be able to enjoy it. I sincerely apologize for the pricing hiccup.

If you bought cacao from us during our higher price month, know that we deeply appreciate your support  (and so do the villagers!) -your contribution helped sustain this project and made this realignment possible. That said —if it felt off, or made things uncomfortable for you in any way, please reach out. We’ll make it right. And now, we've had a great start to the rainy season. Really wet! - And cacao loves rain. Our partner farm is back thriving, with lots of flowers on the trees, and it looks to be a great harvest coming up.

With deep gratitude for your trust and support Gg
